Cover your water bed with blankets or a quilt when not in use. Save 3% of the operating cost for each 10° you reduce the temperature on your electric water heater. Change furnace filters regularly.  Reduce your thermostat setting for your heating system when you leave for three hours or longer (it's less expensive to reheat than to maintain the temperature). Keep chimney dampers closed when your fireplace is not in use. Service your heating system anually. Keep baseboard and wall heaters clean and unobstructed.
