EFFICIENCY TIPS

  • Match the burner size to the pan
  • When boiling water, bring it to a boil then reduce the burner temperature to maintain the boil.
  • Let your leftovers cool slightly before putting them in the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Cover pans when cooking.
  • Use the microwave whenever possible.
  • Adjust your refrigerator temperature to 36° - 40° and your freezer to 0°.
  • Keep refrigerator and freezer coils clean.
  • Refrigerators and freezers operate most economically when filled to capacity - avoid interfering with the air circulation.
  • Refrigerators with bottom-mount freezers use less energy than top-mount freezers.
  • Chest freezers use less energy than upright freezers.
