One of the biggest energy users in your home is your heating and cooling system. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, heating your home makes up about 42% of your utility bill. Depending on the efficiency of your heating system, you could be paying more to heat your home than necessary.

Baseboard and wall heaters cost $0.11/hour for 1500-watt units, and most homes have several. A ductless heat pump costs $0.08/hour and has the potential to heat multiple spaces.

Since ductless heat pumps don’t require air ducts to move heat, they are one of the most efficient and cost-effective heating systems. They also provide air conditioning and can be a great solution for new additions or areas of your home that are under served.

Salem Electric offers incentives up to $1,000 for residential members who install high-efficiency ductless heat pumps.
