Enhancing Comfort and Efficiency through Weatherization

May 01, 2024

In the Pacific Northwest, where weather patterns can be unpredictable, a comfortable and energy-efficient home is essential. Salem Electric offers weatherization incentives to qualifying residential members to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient, increase coziness, and cut down on energy costs.

Our weatherization program focuses on affordability and accessibility. If your project qualifies, incentives could help cover up to half of the cost of eligible energy-saving upgrades. If you’re in a low-income household you might even get 100% of your costs covered!

The list of qualified programs includes air sealing; floor, wall, and ceiling insulation; duct sealing and insulation; and replacement doors and windows. It’s important for us to document the pre-project level of weatherization for some incentives, and not all projects will qualify, so please contact us before you get started.

Don’t know where to start or what changes will save you the most? We can help. Our trained staff can review your home energy consumption and identify areas of energy loss by conducting a home energy audit. Following an energy audit, you’ll receive personalized recommendations for energy-saving upgrades and improvements. Improvements can range from small to big, but by implementing even small changes, you can improve your comfort, reduce energy waste, and lower your electric bill.

Beyond the immediate cost savings, weatherizing a home can have long-term benefits by reducing the strain on the power grid. Energy efficiency helps keep our power green and keeps rates down for everyone.  Learn more about our energy efficiency programs and incentives.
